Logitech speakers, 22" Insignia LCD 720 class, and xbox 360. How do I hook them up?

Do I really need to hook the surround sound through the xbox or can I just hook the speakers up to the tv and let it play like that? Is there seperate components I need to buy? least complicated sollution please.
