can you hook a subwoofer up to the Logitech Pure-Fi Elite?

I know you can hook one up to the Altec Lansing in motion iM600 because it has a sub output, but the Logitech Pure-Fi Elite has an "audio" output, and I'm not sure if a sub will work when connected to an audio ouput vs a sub output.

i recently got a logitech pure-fi i-pod dock and when i set my alarm for the morning it doesnt go off. but if go to set it at say 9pm and set the alarm for 9.10pm it will go off. does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?

Which iPod dock is better? logitech pure-fi anytime or sony ICF-CD3iP?
