Alpine MRP M500 Amp with Alpine Type R 1242D or 1222D Subwoofer?

Alpine MRP M500 Amp with Alpine Type R 12" Subwoofer 1242D or 1222D? Any other amps recommended? How big of a difference is there with these 2 Subwoofers? Also, the 1222d is 1500Watts, and the 1242D is 2000Watts, so can I use a much stronger amp with both of these subs?
