what kind of wiring do i need for my amp?

Right now i have 8 gauge wiring. Im going to get a 1000 watt amp. Its the kenwood kac 7205. on the website it recommends 8 gauge wiring. On another website it says 1000 watt amps are better with 4 gauge wiring. Will my amp be fine if i use 8 gauge?
