What gauge or wire should i use to wire the Alpine MRP M1000?

I have an Alpine MRP M1000 and i was just wondering what gauge of wire to use to set it up, just to get the best performance. Also, what gauge of speaker wire should i use to run the two Alpine type r SWR 1222D that will be connected to it?

im lookin at buying a 12' type R and tryn to figure out if a MRP- M1000 amp will work.?

I'm not sure if the MRP-M1000 supports 4ohms or 2ohms, that is what im trying to figure out.

I have an Mrp M1000 and i connected it to two 4 ohm dvc powerbass 12s and the subs wont play?

The Subs are about 6 months old and the amp is brand new. I first had the subs installed professionally and they worked fine till about a month ago. I figured the amp was blown so i got a new one. I hooked everything up how its supposed to be and still nothing. What could be wrong with it?
