Why wont my RCA RT2870 Home theater read my Ipod?

When I plug in my 2G I-Pod Touch into my RCA RT2870 Home theater, "No usb" appears on the stereo. Does RT2870's not read ipods? So you downloaded something from apple? How do I tell them whats wrong?

i have the rca rt2870 home theater system.when i plug in the digital coaxial cable to my tv and to the home theater system the sound is only coming out from digital channel such as 6.1, 5.1. it doesn't come out from analog channels such as 18,23.how do i fix it.
