I just bought a SANYO DP19649?

The tv is supposed to be a 720p but it is only playing on 480i why is the tv doing this and how do I change it to 720p or should I just take it back to the store?

when I turn my sanyo tv shows the word factory, if I want to change chanel I have to press menu on the TV.?
