factory radio will not play a burnt cd?

I have a 2002 Toyota Rav 4 with a factory radio w/cd player. When I burn cd's they will play on the laptop, but they will not play in the car. I am using a memorex ultra speed cd-rw. How can I fix this or get this to work. Please be detailed in your help. Thanks
