I hooked up my xbox 360 to a dynex 32" tv but I have no sound?

I just bought an xbox 360 and a dynex 32" tv but when I hooked up all the cables for the xbox 360 to the tv I get picture and all but no sound. Can someone walk me through on the set up again so I can get sound or explain to me what I did wrong? Thanks in advance.

I just got my Dynex 32" LCD TV and when ever there is black it looks pixelated. Is this normal and is there a setting I can tweak so it doesn't look like that?
