What's the acceptable burn failure rate for an average 16x DVD+/-R disc?

I bought 75 DVD's from Memorex, which is usually a decent brand, and I'm getting about 25% failure rate on burning, which is very annoying. I don't burn much so I don't know if this is normal... The firmware on my DVD writer (LG 16x) is up-to-date.
